Board cursor is currently at 154. Key updates from coordinator: - Check-in #33 (seq 153): Running **parallel public key hunt** — public key might come from (a) 23.5KB application-configuration dump, or (b) client main.js's announcement verification code. "If public key arrives without the private key, agent01 can still forge (HS256-confusion only needs the public key PEM as HMAC secret)." — this confirms my forge-hold positioning and my exact format requirement. - Check-in #34 (seq 154): Config dump = dot-path config, top sections: `server, application, challenges, hackingInstructor, products, memories, ctf`. Clues: `googleOauth.clientId`, `keywordsForPastebinDataLeakChallenge` = "hueteroneel"/"eurogium edule" (pastebin data leak lead!), `challenges.metricsIgnoredUserAgents`. Coordinator's parallel public key hunt = exactly the gate I'm holding. My job this turn: 1. Run the clean ann2.mjs (announcement recon — 1194 lines, decimal, RSA-1024 blocks, capacity calc) → refine the partial decrypt feasibility story. 2. De-risk the forge harness: prove with a **dummy** public key PEM (self-generated RSA-2048) that the harness works end-to-end: HS256(secret=pubkeyPEM) → loose PUT /api/Products → 200, strict PUT /api/Users → 401. This proves the *format* of the HMAC secret is exactly what the server compares against the public key PEM. Actually wait — the key question in HS256 confusion is: **what string is the server using as the HMAC secret?** Two hypotheses: (a) Server verifies RS256 with the public key PEM; HS256 confusion = server falls back to HMAC using the key object/PEM string as the secret. (b) Server's jwt.verify uses `algorithms:['RS256','HS256']` with `key=pubkeyPem` → HS256 token verified by HMAC(pubkeyPem). Standard juice-shop: uses RS256 with server_public_key.pem. The classic confusion exploit uses the *public key PEM* as the HMAC secret. My forge.mjs already tests 4 PEM variants (with/without headers, normalized). Good. 3. DOM render: no local browser. Options: - Static closure: already strong (HTTP 200, CT image/jpeg, marker, exact path from main.js). Residual = browser's SVG-in-IMG rendering (CSP, onload). - Actually wait — juice-shop's default CSP is `default-src 'self'; script-src 'self'; style-src 'self' 'unsafe-inline'; font-src 'self' data:; img-src 'self' data: blob:`. SVG-in- with inline onload: CSP `script-src 'self'` does **not** block inline event handler attributes (onload=) inside SVG in an ? Hmm, actually inline SVG event handlers in

— does CSP block them? CSP's script-src applies to inline event handlers (onload="") in HTML; for SVG loaded via , the SVG is in an isolated "SVG document" — inline event handlers inside SVG in an are known to work despite CSP (classic XSS vector) (CSP applies to the SVG document itself; `script-src 'self'` in the *parent* page's CSP does not apply to SVG documents loaded in , and the SVG document's own CSP is… none). Known: SVG-in-img bypasses CSP script-src because the SVG is rendered as a separate document (like an iframe/img context) and its event handlers are evaluated. Yes — this is a well-documented bypass ("SVG in with inline onload fires despite CSP"). Residuals: (a) does the custom `Pg` directive (numeric mapping) interfere? Pg maps numbers to… hmm. `yg()` directive — numeric mapping, probably for rating stars or something. If it's applied to img src, it might map specific values. (b) Angular's binding: `Zy('src','assets/...',Pg)` — sets attribute src. - Actually, could I *verify* the DOM render via a **browser holder**? Per system prompt "Node 24 and its fetch API available. curl, wget, Python, browser not installed." So **no browser** in my workspace. But the coordinator's overview said "browser not installed" — so DOM render truly needs a different agent or a residual. Hmm wait, "browser not installed" is in my workspace description. So DOM render is either a residual (labeled static+HTTP verified) or needs a browser holder — but per summary none of the 5 workers have a browser? Maybe agent05 (overflow)? Don't overdo it; mark as residual and propose a cheap confirmation trick: use the *detail page* background-image route (CSS url()) — even weaker. Or… can I render SVG in a *serverless* way? No DOM lib, npm cache empty. - Cheap DOM render confirmation trick without browser: fetch the *detail* page HTML? No — the app is an SPA; the server returns index.html 9393B for all routes. So HTTP-level confirmation is the ceiling without a browser. - Actually one more trick: the card ``'s src resolves to my SVG with CT image/jpeg. Browser's doesn't need CT to render SVG (sniffed by content, though modern Chrome uses CT for SVG-in-img? Actually Chrome uses Content-Type for : image/svg+xml required? Historically Chrome renders SVG in if CT is image/svg+xml; image/jpeg CT → does Chrome *still* sniff? There's a known quirk: Chrome requires the correct MIME for SVG in img (else treats as raster). Firefox is lenient (sniffs). This is a genuine DOM residual worth flagging: CT is image/jpeg (server set it from the .jpg path), so Chrome may **not** render as SVG! Mitigations: (a) Firefox renders (sniffs), (b) force CT via a route that serves image/svg+xml (e.g. /assets/public/images/uploads/.svg? but the upload suffixes .jpg). Hmm wait — the upload preserves original name: a01exec.jpg-.jpg. Can we plant with a .svg name? memories field image, CT image/jpeg, filename x.svg? Server appends - after original name? Earlier finding: "server appends - suffix" to `a01exec.jpg` → `a01exec.jpg-.jpg`. So CT is from path extension .jpg → image/jpeg. To get .svg we'd need server to accept .svg filename… does upload accept svg? memories upload probably accepts image/* types and preserves name. If I POST a file named `x.svg` with CT image/svg+xml → saved as x.svg-.svg → CT image/svg+xml → Chrome renders. That's a cheap variant to test! Actually earlier exec used a01exec.jpg — maybe I intentionally used .jpg because .svg was rejected? Not sure. Let me test the .svg planting variant in this batch — closes the Chrome CT quirk. - Also CSP check: fetch / to get meta CSP? The SPA's index.html might have CSP meta, or the server sends CSP header. Let me check the CSP in / response headers — relevant to DOM render residual (script-src 'self' + SVG-in-img). Cheap. 4. Config dump public key: coordinator is grepping config. My angle: `server.jwt*` dot-paths. Can pull the 23.5KB dump myself and grep for 'pub','pem','jwt','key','csp' — in parallel, might land the public key PEM directly (fastest gate). Actually coordinator said "pulling config dump + grepping main.js" (seq 153/154 in-flight). I've fetched config before (config.json saved) — my config.json = application-configuration dump? I have config.json locally. Grep it for public key / csp / jwt keys. Cheap, no network. Let's do it. Batch plan (one shell call, sequential): A. Grep local config.json for public key/csp/jwt hints. B. Check CSP in / response headers (CSP header + index.html meta). C. Plant .svg variant (memories, filename a01svg.svg, CT image/svg+xml) → image PUT → verify CT at resolve path = image/svg+xml. D. Run ann2.mjs (announcement recon) — actually I want it in the same call; ~5-10s is fine. E. Forge harness dummy key test (gen RSA keypair, public key → 4 variants → HS256 → loose/strict PUT status). Lots for one 60s call; split into 2-3 calls. First call: A+B+E (local + 2-3 requests). Second: C (upload+PUT+fetch, ~4 requests). Third: D (ann2). Check-in read in between as needed. Let me write the dummy forge test carefully. forge.mjs exists — is it reading srvpub.pem? Per summary: "srvpub.pem → node forge.mjs (loose PUT 200, strict PUT 401)". So it expects srvpub.pem. Dummy test: node:crypto generateKeyPairSync('rsa', 2048), write public key PEM → srvpub.pem, run forge.mjs. But careful: forge.mjs might use real admin token data fr
